I understand intimately what it is to balance a creative practice with the cognitive and physical load that comes with leading, mothering, and building. When I was writing my novel on the edges of the day and in the sips of time I could find, I did so much grinding, stressing, and putting pressure on myself to “do it all.” Hiring a coach and reclaiming my own narrative changed my life. I learned how to write the book while still getting results in my professional life and being present with my loved ones. I sleep 8 hours each night. I spend time with my family. I dream. I refuse to allow my ambition to cost me my joy and wholeness.

Now I’m on a mission to help other women in leadership do the same. With Bernadette’s Lineage, I have built the program I needed. In-person touchpoints, plus a thoughtfully constructed container that keeps you writing while tending to your wellness and nervous system regulation.     This container is designed and led by an ICF-certified coach, career program designer, executive leader and writer who has spent years supporting leaders, caregivers, and artists to return to themselves. Our team brings a combined 30+ years of executive coaching, program design, facilitation, and writing experience across genres.

    You will also be exposed to industry professionals who bring expertise related to:

    1. How to pitch and secure a literary agent
    2. How to secure a book deal with a major publishing house
    3. How to write for television and film
    4. How to build a voice and presence as a cultural critic
    5. How to get the book done as a parent/caregiver/working professional/busy entrepreneur

    The writing industry is notoriously high stress—often prioritizing marketability over talent, and urgency over care. You writing a book is not the desired outcome of this program - the goal is for you feel rested and grounded in your power while writing your book. Our program prepares nervous systems for a writing life, and aims to fortify you in your brilliance and the power of your story.

    Imagine one experience in 2026 that gives you an intentional throughline across wellness, executive coaching, writing craft, and community building. Our cohesive approach holds retreats, individual and group coaching, industry labs/mastermind sessions, small group circles, and a nine-month arc of support. This enables you to hold your multitudes in one container. And because we offer executive coaching, individuals are able to leverage pd funds to support their enrollment.

We are living organisms — and in this experience you will connect to land and get rooted in your body’s wisdom as a pathway to the creative process.

Your book is in the future. Through our design, you will access tools and processes to meet it now. You will also get rooted and clear on the histories and lineages that inform your creative work.

Practice + Integration

You will produce a lot of writing in this program. You will learn how to integrate your writing into the flow of your life and leadership. You will assess what is and isn’t working — and through support from your Scribe Circle and coach, emerge with the flow and systems that are right for you.

Clarity + Loving Rigor

We equip you with writing industry knowledge and expertise. We expose you to the pathways established writers took to build writing practices through life and work — so you can build your own.

Return on Investment

This is an investment in you, for you. When women fill our cups, everyone benefits. The primary return on investment is clarifying, fulfilling, and exceeding your writing goals while continuing to excel in other areas of your life, and learning how to center your rest, joy, and sustainability while doing so. These tools will carry forward through the duration of your creative and professional life.

In addition, you will:

  1. Receive in-depth insight from writing industry professionals to support steps towards publication and building or furthering a writing career

  6. Have joined a lifetime community. Bernadette’s Lineage aims to be a movement of liberated, activated writers, and alumni of the program will have the opportunity to tap into ongoing development opportunities for connection, creativity, clarity, and community

FAQ

Are scholarships available?

Not yet. Many participants use professional development budgets and/or payment plans. We’ll continue exploring funding opportunities for future cohorts. If you’re interested but can’t enroll this year, apply and indicate interest in future iterations.

There are many great writing programs out there, and we encourage you to identify an experience that best supports your needs. This investment reflects the real cost of holding a premium, intimate experience — equitable pay for venues and collaborators, deep coaching support, and a carefully designed arc that doesn’t rely on urgency, hustle, or templated solutions. We also offer a sliding scale so you can choose the rate that matches your current capacity.

How does the sliding scale work?

We offer three rates. Choose the rate that aligns with your current financial capacity. If you have the ability individually, or are using organizational professional development funds, we recommend selecting the Standard or Sustainer rate. If you’re personally funding this in a season of constraint, the Supported tier is here for you. No questions asked.

Do I need to already identify as a writer, or have started my book?

No. This design supports experienced and new writers alike. You might be early in an idea, hesitant to claim “writer” as an identity, or returning after a long pause. Our design supports you in beginning from where you are.

Will this program guarantee me publication?

No, and please question any program that does. What Bernadette’s Lineage offers is a comprehensive pathway to move beyond fear and doubt in your writing practice; clarity on what you are writing, and why, and concrete tools on the publishing industry.

I am working on a screenplay/children’s book/memoir/business book/sci-fi novel/poetry collection, etc…is this program right for me?

Yes! Bernadette’s Lineage is intentionally multi-genre and designed to hold participants working across a range of literary expressions.

What differentiates this from other writing programs?

We intentionally go deep and hold you as an individual without applying a “fixed” process for how to write a book. We start with the self and move from there. We are also intentional about supporting those who might be hesitant to take on the identity of “writer”, but know they have a story in them. And our small, curated group size and blend of in-person, virtual, group, and 1:1 modalities ensures we are meeting participants at a range of entry points.

This sounds amazing but I am worried about finding the time.

This program is designed to give you back more time, and more vitality. In our opening retreat we will get real about our schedules and lives, clearing space for what no longer serves you, so you can make room for what does. Additionally, our design is built for working professionals. With all sessions recorded and opportunities to tailor attendance in particular sessions based on your life (e.g. come to all weekly writing cafes, or come to two a month, or come to none), our intention is for participants to hold this experience with easeful integration into their day-to-day lives.

My mother Bernadette loved being a mom, was committed to providing for her children, and was the life of the party amongst her friends and family. She lived a full life, but she passed with many dreams and goals still inside her. She wanted to travel the world, to start a business, to grow professionally, and so much more. Bernadette’s Lineage is my homage to all of our foremothers. We don’t have to wait for retirement, for the kids to be grown, or for that elusive “one day” when our schedules are suddenly perfect to breathe life into our creative dreams. This work is not about doing it all - it is about doing more of what matters to you. My mother did not live long enough to see my publishing dream be fulfilled, but it is her legacy of love, creativity, discipline, and community that this work stands upon.
